In this deeply human and hopeful story, a Brazilian tattoo artist named Fernando opens his doors to Caitlin, a young woman haunted by the self-harm scars on her body. As Fernando gently works to transform her scars into art, Caitlin begins to share the pain of her past. Through tender, empathetic conversations, both confront their own wounds: Caitlin seeks to reclaim and heal her body, while Fernando wrestles with his own mental-health struggles.

“I decided to make this character driven film after meeting Fernando briefly at his tattoo shop. I immediately connected with his story and I wanted to make a film that raises awareness and empathy for people affected by self- harm and recognises that scars and a person’s previous struggle with mental illness does not need to define their lives. Scars, especially those resulting from mental health challenges, can constantly remind individuals of difficult times, often leading to judgment, misunderstanding, and feelings of shame and isolation from others. The choice to conceal these scars with tattoos can be a powerful step towards repossessing one's body and rebuilding self- esteem. Caitlin's story is a powerful one that I felt needed to be told.”
